Removing broken window

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• U-shaped blade - V.A.G 1561/3-
• electric cutter - V.A.G 1561BCAUTION

CAUTION

Risk of injury to hands and eyes due to glass splinters.

Danger of cutting yourself.

• Put on safety goggles.
• Put on protective gloves.

NOTICE

Risk of damage to surfaces of components.

• Mask off surrounding components in the visible area with commercially available adhesive tape.

• Protect body and interior from glass splinters.
• Remove pieces of glass so that only those stuck with adhesive residue are left.
• Disconnect electrical connectors.
• Mask off body flange -1- all around with fabric adhesive tape.
• Cut through adhesive residue with glass remnants -3- in window opening with electric cutter - V.A.G 1561B- -2- and U-shaped blade - V.A.G 1561/3- .

Window repair

Damaged windows can be repaired using the window repair kit - VAS 6092A- or the window glass polishing set - VAS 861 009- n.

Each window repair kit and window glass polishing set comes with a set of instructions.
