1. Three-phase current drive 2 - VX97- with gearbox
2. Seal for right drive shaft

• Renew after removing
• ⇒ Rep. gr. 39 ; Renewing right seal

3. Left drive shaft seal

• Renew after removing
• ⇒ Rep. gr. 39 ; Renewing left seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• hook - VW771/37-
• multi-purpose tool - VW771-
• thrust piece - T10627-

Removing

• Remove left drive shaft ⇒ Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr. 40 ; Drive shaft; Removing and installing drive shafts .
• Use hook - VW771/37- -A- and multi-purpose tool - VW771- -B- to pull seal -arrow- out of gearbox -1-.

Installing

• Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- with sealing grease.

Sealing grease ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)

• Use thrust piece - T10627- -C- to drive in seal to stop, being careful to keep seal straight.

• Install left drive shaft ⇒ Running gear, axles, steering; Rep.

Renewing right seal, left-hand drive vehicles

Removing

• Remove right drive shaft ⇒ Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr. 40 ; Drive shaft; Removing and installing drive shaft .
• Use hook - VW771/37- -A- and multi-purpose tool - VW771- -B- to pull seal -arrow- out of gearbox -1-.

Installing

• Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- with sealing grease.
