1. Three-phase current drive - VX54- with gearbox
2. Left drive shaft seal

• Renew after removing

3. Seal for right drive shaft

• Renew after removing

Renewing left seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• multi-purpose tool - VW771-
• puller hook - VW771/37-
• thrust piece - T10481-

Removing

• Remove left drive shaft ⇒ Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr. 42 ; Drive shaft; Removing and installing drive shafts .
• Use puller hook - VW771/37- -1- and multi-purpose tool - VW771- -2- to pull out seal -arrow-.

Installing

• Half-fill space between sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- with sealing grease.

Sealing grease ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)

• Drive in new seal to stop using thrust piece - T10481- -1- keeping the seal absolutely straight in the process.

• Install left drive shaft ⇒ Running gear, axles, steering; Rep.

  gr. 42 ; Drive shaft; Removing and installing drive shaft .

• ⇒ Rep. gr. 34 ; Check gear oil level .

Renewing right seal

Removal and installation are described for the left vehicle side as an example ⇒ Rep. gr. 39 ; Renewing left seal .
