Checking gear oil level

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• adapter - VAS 6617/11-
• hand pump for gear oil - VAS 6617-

CAUTION

Risk of injury caused by escaping oil/fluid.

Eyes and skin can suffer irritation or injuries.

• Put on safety goggles.
• Put on protective gloves.

Allocate gear oil according to ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA) .

• Unscrew plug for gear oil filling and inspection hole -arrow-.

Important

• Vehicle must be horizontal when checking gear oil level.
• The gear oil level is correct when the gearbox is filled to the lower edge of the oil filler hole.

Filling gear oil

• Engage hand pump for gear oil - VAS 6617- and adapter - VAS 6617/11- .
• Use hand pump for gear oil - VAS 6617- and adapter - VAS 6617/11- to fill gear oil up to lower edge of oil filler hole.
• Screw in and tighten new plug for gear oil filling and inspection hole -arrow-.
