Volkswagen ID.4: Second luggage compartment floor - functions

Depending on the equipment version, the Volkswagen ID.4 may be fitted with a height-adjustable second luggage compartment floor, offering enhanced flexibility for cargo organization and storage.

Opening the second luggage compartment floor

1. Grip the handle → fig. 1 -1- and fold the rear section of the luggage compartment floor forward in the direction indicated by the arrow.

If the luggage compartment floor of the Volkswagen ID.4 is set in the lower position, the rear section may come into contact with the side panels when opening. In this case, apply gentle pressure to move it past the resistance safely.

Closing the second luggage compartment floor

1. Fold the luggage compartment floor back into position and carefully lower it until it rests securely.

1. Recessed grip on the luggage compartment floor.
2. Upper guide rails on the luggage compartment side.
3. Lower guide rails on the luggage compartment side.

The second luggage compartment floor in the Volkswagen ID.4 can be positioned at either an upper or lower level to optimize storage space or create a flat loading surface:

1. Lift the floor using the handle → fig. 2 -1-, then pull it slightly backward and out of the side guides.

2. Insert the floor into the desired guide position → fig. 2 -2- (upper) or -3- (lower) and push it forward until it is securely seated.

NOTICE

Improper handling may damage the second luggage compartment floor or surrounding trim in the Volkswagen ID.4.

• Always guide the floor gently downward when closing and never drop it.
• Distribute loads evenly (maximum 50 kg / 110 lbs) across the surface to prevent concentrated stress.
• Transport heavier loads only when the floor is positioned at the lower level.

Volkswagen recommends securing all cargo in the Volkswagen ID.4 using tie-down points with appropriate straps or fastening systems to prevent movement during driving.
