4. Place the warning triangle at an appropriate distance to warn approaching vehicles.

5. Follow all safety instructions regarding the engine compartment (→ In the engine compartment).

6. If necessary, contact an authorized Volkswagen dealer or Volkswagen Service Facility for assistance. Volkswagen recommends using the official Volkswagen emergency assistance service for the Volkswagen ID.4.

When the emergency flashers are active, for example during towing, you can still indicate turns or lane changes using the turn signal. The emergency flashers will pause briefly to allow signaling.

Switch on the emergency flashers in the following situations, for example:

• To warn traffic behind you if traffic ahead slows suddenly or you reach the end of a traffic jam.

NOTICE

When pushing the Volkswagen ID.4 manually, avoid applying pressure to delicate components such as taillights, the rear spoiler, or large body panels.

Improper handling may cause damage, including detachment of the rear spoiler.

The 12 V battery in the Volkswagen ID.4 can discharge if the emergency flashers remain on for an extended period, even when the ignition is switched off.

Depending on the equipment of the Volkswagen ID.4, the brake lights may flash rapidly during sudden braking at speeds above approximately 50 mph (80 km/h). This function alerts drivers behind you. If braking continues until the vehicle stops, the emergency flashers will automatically activate below approximately 6 mph (10 km/h) and will turn off again once you accelerate.
