Volkswagen ID.4: Data processing

This section applies to Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles operated in EU countries under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

When using online services, vehicle data is transmitted and processed via Internet connections. This data may indirectly provide insights into driver behavior and vehicle usage patterns.

Privacy policies for Volkswagen ID.4 online services can be accessed in the Infotainment system under MENU Legal or HOME Legal.

Permanent transfer of the vehicle

If you have purchased a used Volkswagen ID.4 or received the vehicle from a previous owner, online services may still be active and accessible to the previous user.

Additionally, digital keys or user profiles may still be linked to the vehicle.

Check in the Infotainment system whether the Volkswagen ID.4 is assigned to a primary user. If so, you can register yourself as the new primary user, which will automatically remove previous user access.

Alternatively, you can manually delete previous user data via the Infotainment system.

You may also switch the Volkswagen ID.4 to offline mode to limit communication with Volkswagen servers and restrict data processing.
