• Wi-Fi in the Volkswagen ID.4 supports IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standards for reliable and high-speed connectivity.
• Data transmission is available on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, ensuring flexibility and performance.
• The Volkswagen ID.4 can operate in three Wi-Fi modes simultaneously:
  • Tethering (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) via external devices.
  • 2.4 GHz access point mode.
  • 5 GHz access point mode.
• Wi-Fi antenna system:
  • Dedicated multi-band antennas for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.
• Up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices can be connected at the same time in the Volkswagen ID.4.
• Internet connectivity options:
  • Tethering through a smartphone or via the integrated eSIM.
  • Using the Volkswagen ID.4 as a Wi-Fi hotspot for passengers.
• Wireless Apple CarPlay support via Wi-Fi.
• Wireless Android Auto functionality via Wi-Fi.
• Quick and easy pairing using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) or QR code scanning.

Possible data connection types

External Wi-Fi device:

In the Volkswagen ID.4, you can connect to the Internet by using the hotspot of an external Wi-Fi device such as a smartphone (→ Wi-Fi).

eSIM (embedded SIM):

The Volkswagen ID.4 is equipped with a control module that includes an integrated eSIM card. To activate Internet services and hotspot functionality, a suitable data plan must be purchased via the provider’s online portal.

The availability of data connection types in the Volkswagen ID.4 depends on regional regulations and vehicle configuration.
