Assembly overview - interior mirror

1. Retaining plate for interior mirror

• To be renewed with windscreen only
• ⇒ General body repairs, exterior; Rep.

  gr. 64 ; Windscreen; Removing and installing windscreen

2. Rain and light sensor - G397-

• ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 92 ; Windscreen wiper system; Removing and installing rain and light sensor [G397]

3. Bolt

• Qty. 2
• 1.5 Nm

4. Spring clip

• Renew after removing

5. Interior mirror

• ⇒ Rep. gr. 68 ; Removing and installing interior mirror

6. Lower cover
7. Upper cover

 Removing and installing interior mirror

Removing

• Unclip lower cover -1- in rear area at every side in direction of -arrow A- using commercially available plastic wedge -2-.
• Remove lower cover -1- in direction of -arrow B-.

• Remove upper cover -1- in direction of -arrow-.

• Disconnect electrical connector -2-.
• Insert screwdriver -1- into gap.
• Turn interior mirror -3- at mirror base approx. 20º in direction of -arrow-, and pull it off downwards.

Installing

Reusing interior mirror

• Unscrew bolts -1-.
• Renew spring clip -2-.
• Screw in bolts -1- and tighten them.

All vehicles (continued)

• Make sure that the interior mirror is aligned parallel with the retaining plate.
• Fit interior mirror, turned in anti-clockwise direction, onto retaining plate.
• Turn interior mirror clockwise until it can be heard to engage.

Tightening torques

Further installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.

Observe the following when doing this:
