In the Volkswagen ID.4, several vehicle functions are automatically activated as soon as the driver approaches the vehicle with a valid key. This intelligent access system enhances convenience and ensures that the Volkswagen ID.4 is ready for operation with minimal effort.

Switching on the ignition

1. Press the starter button once. The starter button is located on the right-hand side of the steering column in the Volkswagen ID.4.

Or: Press the brake pedal to activate the ignition system.

Switching off the ignition

1. If the ignition is active and the Volkswagen ID.4 is stationary, press the starter button once.

Or: When the vehicle is stationary and the electronic parking brake is applied, simply exit the vehicle.

The ignition will also switch off automatically if the vehicle is stationary, the brake pedal is not pressed, and the driver unfastens the seat belt while the electronic parking brake is engaged.

Automatic ignition switch off
