Opening the trunk lid

1. To unlock the trunk lid of the Volkswagen ID.4, press the or button on the vehicle key.

2. Raise the trunk lid using the exterior button → fig. 1. The Volkswagen ID.4 provides smooth and convenient access to the luggage compartment.

Closing the trunk lid

1. Pull the trunk lid downward firmly using the interior handle until it securely engages in the lock → fig. 2, → .

An indicator in the instrument cluster of the Volkswagen ID.4 will notify you if the trunk lid is not properly closed.

The trunk lid locks automatically when the Volkswagen ID.4 is in motion, providing additional safety.

WARNING

Improper or careless handling of the trunk lid in the Volkswagen ID.4 can lead to serious injuries.

• Always open the trunk lid fully to prevent it from falling unexpectedly.
• Keep hands and fingers clear of the closing area when shutting the trunk lid.

If the trunk lid is not opened within a few minutes after unlocking, it will automatically lock again for security reasons in the Volkswagen ID.4.
