1. Release button.

Power opening the trunk lid

1. Briefly press and hold the or button on the remote control key.

Or: pull the button upward in the driver’s door → fig. 1 -1-.

Or: press the external trunk release button on the Volkswagen ID.4.

Power closing the trunk lid

1. Press the button inside the trunk lid when it is open → fig. 2.

Or: pull the button in the driver door upward while the ignition is on.

Or: On Volkswagen ID.4 models with Keyless Access, press and hold the button on the vehicle key.

Or: start closing the trunk lid manually until it completes the motion automatically.

The trunk lid will then close securely.

Interrupting the opening or closing process

1. Press the or button on the vehicle key during movement.

Or: press the trunk lid button while it is moving → fig. 2.

The trunk lid of the Volkswagen ID.4 can then be moved manually with slightly increased force.

Pressing the button again returns it to its previous movement direction.

Chimes

Acoustic signals will sound when the trunk lid of the Volkswagen ID.4 is operated remotely or from inside the vehicle.

Changing and saving the opening angle

If there is limited space behind the Volkswagen ID.4, the opening height of the trunk lid can be adjusted:

1. Stop the opening process at the desired height.

The trunk lid must be at least halfway open.

2. Press and hold the button until the hazard lights flash.

The new opening angle is saved for future use in the Volkswagen ID.4.

An audible signal confirms the saved setting.

WARNING

Incorrect closing of the trunk lid in the Volkswagen ID.4 can result in serious injuries.

• Always ensure the closing path is clear before shutting the trunk lid.

NOTICE

Opening or closing the trunk lid without sufficient clearance may damage the Volkswagen ID.4.

• Always check surrounding space, especially in garages or tight parking areas.
