Fig. 1 In the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit: Power display (general example).
While driving the Volkswagen ID.4, the power display provides real-time information about the performance of the electric drivetrain, including current power output and energy recuperation levels.
Display concept
The power display in the Volkswagen ID.4 is visualized using a central bar divided into two sections. On the left side, the green area → fig. 1 -1- indicates the availability of energy recuperation, while the blue area on the right → fig. 1 -2- represents forward propulsion power. When the bar reaches its maximum extent, full performance or recuperation capacity is available. If limitations occur, the bar is shortened accordingly.
The actual power currently being used is displayed dynamically as a lighter overlay bar: light green for recuperation and light blue for propulsion.
If the displayed current power matches the maximum available output (bars of equal length), the Volkswagen ID.4 has reached its current performance limit.
The maximum power limit cannot be reached at all driving speeds and may vary depending on conditions.
Influencing factors
In addition to vehicle speed, several factors influence the performance and energy recuperation of the Volkswagen ID.4:
WARNING
If the available drive power in the Volkswagen ID.4 is reduced, the vehicle’s acceleration and overall handling characteristics may change. This can increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
