Fig. 1 Remove the wheel hub cover.

Full wheel hub covers on the Volkswagen ID.4 protect the wheel bolts and must be reinstalled after any wheel work.

1. Remove the extraction hook from the vehicle tool kit.

2. Insert the hook into one of the openings in the wheel hub cover.

3. Pull the cover off in the direction of the arrow. If required, carefully use a lug wrench to assist removal → fig. 1.

Installing the full wheel cover

1. Ensure that the anti-theft wheel bolt is correctly positioned.

2. Align the valve opening in the cover with the tire valve and press the cover firmly onto the rim until it is fully secured.

WARNING

Incorrectly installed wheel covers on the Volkswagen ID.4 can loosen while driving and pose a serious safety risk.

  • Do not use damaged covers.
  • Ensure the cover is securely engaged around its entire edge.

WARNING

Improper installation can restrict brake cooling airflow, leading to overheating.

This may significantly increase braking distance and cause accidents.

  • Ensure the valve opening is correctly aligned.
  • Confirm the cover is securely attached all around.

NOTICE

Wheel hub covers that are tightly fitted may be damaged if removed with excessive force.

  • Always remove carefully without using excessive force.
