Volkswagen ID.4: Seat heating

In the Volkswagen ID.4, the seat heating system enhances comfort during colder conditions. Once the vehicle's drive system is activated, both the front seats and the outer rear seats can be electrically heated with three adjustable levels.

Switch the seat heating on and off via the Air conditioner menu in the Infotainment system.

Seat heating levels

The current operating level of seat heating in the Volkswagen ID.4 is visually indicated by colored symbols in the Infotainment system. At the highest heating level, all three indicators beneath or are illuminated in red, clearly showing maximum heat output.

Using the seat heating function

1. Open the Air conditioner menu in the Infotainment system (→ Air conditioner menu in the Infotainment system).

2. To activate seat heating at the highest level in your Volkswagen ID.4, tap or at the bottom of the screen.

3. To adjust the heating intensity, tap or repeatedly until the desired level is reached.

4. To switch off the seat heating, tap or until the indicator turns gray.

Alternatively, in the Volkswagen ID.4, you can quickly toggle seat heating on or off by tapping with two fingers on the touch control below the Infotainment system on the corresponding side.

Switching on seat heating automatically at the beginning of the journey

1. Open the Air conditioner menu in the Infotainment system.

2. Access the Climate control settings submenu by tapping .

3. Select the preferred seat heating level in the Seat heating menu.

In the Volkswagen ID.4, the selected heating level will automatically activate when the drive system is started, depending on the outside temperature conditions.

To disable this automatic feature, simply select Off in the same menu.

The seat heating switches on and off automatically

If the Volkswagen ID.4 is restarted within approximately ten minutes, the system automatically restores the last selected heating level for the driver’s seat. If the front passenger seat is occupied, the previously set level for that seat will also be restored.

If the front passenger leaves the seat while heating is active and the vehicle remains ready to drive, the system will automatically switch off the passenger seat heating. The indicator in the Infotainment system will turn gray after a short delay. When the passenger returns, the heating will automatically reactivate.

• The seat is occupied by a person with reduced sensitivity to pain or temperature → .
• The seat is not occupied.
• A child restraint system is installed on the seat.
• Objects such as protective covers, jackets, blankets, or bags are placed on the seat.
• The seat surface is damp or wet.
• The interior or exterior temperature exceeds +25 ºC (+77 ºF).
