Volkswagen ID.4: Setting, Changing and Resetting the S-PIN

The S-PIN provides an additional layer of security for your Volkswagen ID.4 and is required during authentication for sensitive operations.

The S-PIN is a numeric code defined during registration and used to protect access to critical services.

Avoid simple combinations such as repeating digits or easily guessed dates when creating your S-PIN for the Volkswagen ID.4.

Keep your S-PIN strictly confidential. If there is any suspicion that it has been compromised, change it immediately.

Setting the S-PIN via myVolkswagen and the App

• In myVolkswagen, configure your S-PIN within your Volkswagen ID account settings.
• In the app, set your S-PIN during the login or registration process.

For better security, the S-PIN should consist of four unique, non-sequential numbers.

Changing the S-PIN via myVolkswagen and the App

• Change your S-PIN in your Volkswagen ID account via myVolkswagen.
• Alternatively, update it in the app by entering both the current and new S-PIN.

If incorrect S-PIN entries are made multiple times, access will be temporarily blocked for security reasons.

Resetting the S-PIN via myVolkswagen and the App

• Reset the S-PIN through your Volkswagen ID account on myVolkswagen.
• Or reset it directly in the mobile app.

After resetting the S-PIN, services in the Volkswagen ID.4 will be temporarily unavailable until ownership verification is completed in the vehicle.

To restore full functionality, enter the activation PIN in the Volkswagen ID.4 and complete the activation process again.
