Volkswagen ID.4: Standard behavior of the driving mode and the vehicle systems

The Comfort driving mode represents the default system configuration of the Volkswagen ID.4 whenever the ignition is switched on.

Behavior of the driving mode when switching the ignition off and on

When the ignition of the Volkswagen ID.4 is switched off and then back on, the previously selected driving mode remains active.

Behavior of the Drive vehicle system when the ignition is switched off and on

The Drive system in the Volkswagen ID.4 resets to Comfort mode after the ignition is cycled.

All other vehicle systems retain their previously selected settings.

You can manually reselect your preferred driving mode for the Drive system.

1. Select the desired driving mode again via the Infotainment system.

Troubleshooting

Adaptive chassis control malfunction

The yellow warning indicator lights up in the Volkswagen ID.4.

The message “Fault: Damper control” may appear in the instrument cluster display.
