1. Unlock the Volkswagen ID.4. All turn signals flash twice to confirm unlocking.
2. Unlock the trunk lid separately. All turn signals flash twice. Press and briefly hold the button to activate this function.
3. Lock the Volkswagen ID.4. All turn signals flash once to confirm locking.
4. Indicator light: Flashes when any button is pressed, provided all doors and the trunk lid of the Volkswagen ID.4 are properly closed.

The remote control key for the Volkswagen ID.4 is designed for convenient and secure access to the vehicle. Regular use ensures optimal responsiveness of all functions.

WARNING

Leaving the vehicle key inside the Volkswagen ID.4 can allow children or unauthorized individuals to operate the vehicle systems, including locking, unlocking, or activating the ignition. This can result in serious or fatal accidents.

• Always take all keys with you when leaving the Volkswagen ID.4.

Never leave children, individuals requiring assistance, or animals unattended inside the Volkswagen ID.4, as they may be exposed to extreme temperatures or unintentionally activate vehicle functions.

External factors such as moisture, strong impacts, or dirt may impair the function of the Volkswagen ID.4 key and cause damage.

• Protect the key from water, drops, and harsh environmental conditions.

Frequent use of comfort features in the Volkswagen ID.4, such as remote unlocking, may reduce the lifespan of the button cell battery inside the key.

Emergency key

1. Press the release button briefly; the key ring section will fold outward.
2. Press the release button again and pull out the emergency key in the direction indicated.
3. Emergency key.

The Volkswagen ID.4 key contains an integrated emergency key that can be used to manually lock or unlock the vehicle if the electronic functions are unavailable → fig. 1 -3-.
