Volkswagen ID.4: Anti-theft alarm system

The Volkswagen ID.4 may be equipped with an advanced anti-theft alarm system designed to enhance vehicle security and protect against unauthorized access.

The anti-theft alarm system in the Volkswagen ID.4 continuously monitors key access points, including the doors, hood, and trunk lid.

This system is automatically activated as soon as the Volkswagen ID.4 is locked using the vehicle key or Keyless Access system.

If an attempt is made to access the Volkswagen ID.4 electronically without a valid key, the anti-theft alarm system is triggered, producing audible and visual warning signals for up to five minutes to deter theft.

When is the alarm triggered?

• If a door that was unlocked manually using the vehicle key is opened.
• If the hood is opened.
• If the trunk lid is opened.
• When using an invalid remote control vehicle key with the Volkswagen ID.4.
• If movement is detected inside the vehicle when equipped with interior monitoring (→ Interior monitoring and towing protection).
• If the Volkswagen ID.4 is lifted or towed and towing protection is active.
• If the vehicle is transported on a ferry or railway while monitoring systems are active.
• If a connected bicycle rack is removed.
• If a trailer paired with the Volkswagen ID.4 is disconnected.
• If the 12 V vehicle battery is disconnected.
• If the rear window is broken.
• If the diagnostic port is accessed while the anti-theft alarm system is active.

Switching off the alarm

1. Unlock the Volkswagen ID.4 using the unlock button on the vehicle key.

2. Grasp the door handle of the Volkswagen ID.4.

3. Switch the ignition on.

To switch on the ignition, place the remote control key in the designated emergency start area (→ Starting the engine).

The anti-theft alarm system in the Volkswagen ID.4 may not function correctly if the 12 V battery is weak or discharged.
