The battery charge level and driving range of the Volkswagen ID.4 can be customized according to daily usage by adjusting the battery charge limits in the Infotainment system.

Upper battery charge limit

The maximum charge level for the Volkswagen ID.4 battery can be set between 50% and 100%.

For everyday driving, it is generally not necessary to charge the high-voltage battery to 100%, which helps preserve battery longevity.

1. Adjust the touch control slider in the Infotainment system to the desired charge limit.

The selected maximum charge level can also be modified during an active charging session.

Lower battery charge limit

A minimum battery charge level between 0% and 50% can also be configured for the Volkswagen ID.4.

Once connected to a power source, the vehicle will first charge up to this minimum level to ensure sufficient driving range.

After reaching this level, additional charging preferences such as scheduled charging times, lower electricity tariffs, or departure time-based charging will be applied.

This feature is available when using saved charging locations.

1. Tap HOME in the Infotainment system.

2. Tap Charging.

3. Open the Charging locations menu.

4. Adjust the touch control slider within the selected charging location profile.
