The Volkswagen ID.4 AC charging cable supports maximum charging currents of 16 A or 32 A, depending on the charging infrastructure, cable specification, and onboard charger configuration. This flexibility ensures efficient charging in various environments.

NOTICE

Incorrect use of charging stations may lead to damage of the Volkswagen ID.4 high-voltage system.

• Always follow the charging station manufacturer’s instructions carefully.

The Volkswagen ID.4 charging cable must never be used as an extension cable under any circumstances.

Electrical installation standards may vary between countries. When using the Volkswagen ID.4 abroad, different technical requirements may apply.

In some regions, a charging cable with a conductor cross-section of 5 x 6 mm2 may be required to achieve maximum charging efficiency.

Charging with a 16 A cable may not be possible at stations designed exclusively for 32 A operation, depending on their configuration.

• Before charging your Volkswagen ID.4, always verify the available charging technology and compatibility of the station.
