Volkswagen ID.4: Loosening wheel bolts

To safely loosen the wheel bolts on the Volkswagen ID.4, always use a suitable and properly fitting lug wrench designed for the vehicle.

Wheel bolts on the Volkswagen ID.4 should only be loosened slightly — typically one turn — while the vehicle is still on the ground and not yet raised with the jack.

1. Position the lug wrench fully onto the wheel bolt to ensure proper grip.

2. Hold the end of the wrench firmly and turn the bolt approximately one turn counterclockwise → .

If a wheel bolt is difficult to loosen, carefully apply controlled pressure to the end of the lug wrench using your foot. Maintain stable footing and hold onto the Volkswagen ID.4 securely while doing so.

Loosening anti-theft wheel bolts

1. Remove the anti-theft adapter from the vehicle tool kit of the Volkswagen ID.4.

2. Fit the adapter fully onto the anti-theft wheel bolt.

3. Attach the lug wrench securely onto the adapter.

4. Turn the bolt approximately one turn counterclockwise → .

If the anti-theft bolt cannot be loosened easily, apply careful pressure using your foot while maintaining balance and stability.

WARNING

If the wheel bolts on the Volkswagen ID.4 are loosened too much before the vehicle is lifted, the wheel may detach and the vehicle could become unstable.

This can result in serious injuries.

• Only loosen each wheel bolt by approximately one turn before lifting the vehicle.
• Never place any part of your body under the vehicle while loosening bolts.
