1. Use the vehicle key to carefully remove the cover in the direction indicated → fig. 1.

2. Insert the emergency key into the lock cylinder.

3. Turn the key to the right to lock the Volkswagen ID.4 → fig. 2.

4. Turn the key to the left to unlock the Volkswagen ID.4.

5. Pull the door handle firmly to open the driver’s door.

6. Reattach the protective cover securely.

Special considerations for manual unlocking

When manually locking the Volkswagen ID.4, all doors are secured. However, manual unlocking will only open the driver’s door.

  • An alarm may be triggered when opening the driver’s door.
  • An emergency start procedure may be required afterward.
  • Make the Volkswagen ID.4 drive-ready to deactivate the alarm system.

The electronic immobilizer will recognize a valid key in the Volkswagen ID.4.
