1. Lower the head restraint in the Volkswagen ID.4 if necessary to access the release mechanism.
2. Press the release ring around the guide rod → fig. 1 -1- to unlock the head restraint.
3. Pull the head restraint upward in the direction of the arrow → fig. 1 -2- to remove it completely.
Installing the front head restraints
1. Position the head restraint correctly above the guides and insert it into the guide sleeves on the seat backrest of the Volkswagen ID.4.
2. Push the head restraint downward until it clicks into the guide rods.
3. Adjust the head restraint height to suit the occupant for optimal protection and comfort in the Volkswagen ID.4.

1. If necessary, slightly adjust the rear seat backrest in your Volkswagen ID.4 to allow enough clearance for removal.
2. Move the head restraint to its highest position.
3. Pull the head restraint upward while pressing the release button → fig. 2 -1-.
Installing the rear head restraint
1. Release and slightly fold forward the rear seat backrest in the Volkswagen ID.4.
2. Align the head restraint with the guide sleeves and insert it correctly into the seat backrest.
3. Press the release button → fig. 2 -1- and push the head restraint downward.
4. Return the rear seat backrest to its upright position and ensure it locks securely.
5. Adjust the head restraint to the appropriate height for passenger safety in the Volkswagen ID.4.
